Cordula Thym studies women’s studies and political science before switching to editing at the Film Academy Vienna. She continues to be involved in feminist projects like Ladyfest Vienna, Rosa Lila Villa, or “Ch.I.C. in der Wunderwelt”, a radio show/musical fanzine about feminism and popular culture (collaboration with Christiane Erharter and Ina Freudenschuss).
After graduation, she works as an editing assistant and “soundwoman” and also collaborates with Katharina Lampert on her first full-length documentary film: amorous, antiquated, audacious – Stories of Lesbian (In)visibility in Vienna in the 50s and 60s, which opened in theatres in 2009. She got her credentials as an audio engineer, produces music from time to time, and plays the drums in various formations. She is currently collaborating with Katharina Lampert on a new film: FtWTF, a documentary about gender identities.
